What's the Difference?
Highlights are foiled sections of colour, lifted evenly from root to end. They give a brighter, more uniform result and grow out with a visible line, so they suit clients who like a crisp, freshly-done look and don't mind returning every 6 to 8 weeks.
Balayage is hand-painted freehand, without foils, concentrated on the mid-lengths and ends. It grows out softly with no hard regrowth line, which is why most of my Marbella clients — especially anyone who spends summer at the beach, or an evening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Puerto Banús, and can't get to the studio every month — choose it over highlights.
How I Work
Every colour appointment starts with a real conversation about your base colour, your skin tone and how much upkeep you actually want, not just what looks good in a photo. I mix the placement and technique to your hair rather than applying one formula to everyone. That's the difference between colour that's simply applied and colour that's designed for you.

A full balayage or highlights appointment usually runs 2.5 to 4 hours, including toner and a blow-dry finish.
Which one fades better in the sun?
Balayage, because there's no hard line to grow out — it simply softens, which suits Marbella's strong sun and salt water.
Can I go from highlights to balayage?
Yes. I'll assess your existing colour in the consultation and blend the transition so it doesn't look like two different treatments grown together.
